Tenerife

Tenerife is an attractive tourist destination and the largest of the 7 Canary Islands. With a flight time of just a few hours, you can reach an exotic subtropical landscape with a fantastic climate throughout the year.

The island is divided in two by the impressive Teide volcano (which has a cable car for visitors). The north side of the island is green and rainy, while the south is dry and sunny. The seaside resorts, including Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, which are a delight for water sport lovers, sun-worshippers and entertainment, are mostly on the south side of the island.

If you are looking for culture, you can visit the capital, Santa Cruz. At Vilaflor, you can find the “moonscape” of rocks that have eroded into strange shapes. Take a jeep safari across the island or book a sea trip by catamaran, when you will have a good chance of seeing dolphins. Try the famous Cobana banana liqueur on a trip to the Bananera El Guanche banana plantation in Puerto de la Cruz, where you can also see mangos, papayas, cacao and coffee growing in the tropical garden.
