Maastricht Aachen Airport is developing real estate projects in cargo, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul and general aviation. Plans for new passenger facilities are also being developed. MRO and Cargo: On the east side of the runway the 18 hectare cluster of the business park will be dedicated for Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and Cargo development. In cooperation with the consultants of NACO Maastricht Aachen Airport has determined the optimal layout of the cluster. On the Paris Air Show in June 2007 the first MRO companies have signed a memorandum of understanding with the airport. Building plans for a new 20.000 square meter cargo shed with second line facilities are currently being developed. Building will commence in the year 2008.

Passenger facilities: While the current passenger terminal allows passenger growth, Maastricht Aachen Airport and NACO have started the planning process for an enlarged passenger terminal on the present side of the airport.

   
General aviation: in the second half of 2007 construction of the new general aviation facilities will begin. From this well equipped building Air Service Limburg will be the dedicated handling agent for all general and business aviation flights. The aerial tour, pilot training and maintenance facilities of ASL will also be housed in this building.
